Each year Kelly Blue Book’s KBB.com decides which new vehicles should be given the 5-Year Cost to Own Awards. This award is used to honor new vehicles and brands with the lowest projected ownership costs. Jeep® was excited to have two of the vehicles in their fleet named as winners. Keep reading for more information about these award-winning vehicles.

The two vehicles are the Jeep Patriot and the Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. For the third year in a row the Jeep Patriot was named the winner of the lowest 5-Year Cost to Own award in the Compact SUV/Crossover segment and the Jeep Wrangler Unlimited was named the winner of the lowest 5-Year Cost to Own award for the Mid-size SUV/Crossover category.

Along with their 5-Year Cost to Own data for new cars over the first five-years of ownership, Kelly Blue Book’s KBB.com takes the following items into consideration when choosing winners for this award:

  • Depreciation
  • Expected fuel costs
  • Finance and insurance fees
  • Maintenance and repair costs
  • State fees for all new models

“Winning these two significant awards from Kelley Blue Book is a tremendous honor and significant achievement for the Jeep Brand, and particularly for the 2015 Jeep Patriot and Jeep Wrangler Unlimited,” said Mike Manley, President and CEO – Jeep Brand. “The awards reinforce the exceptional value that Jeep vehicles deliver to customers throughout their ownership experience.”
