For the second year in a row, the Jeep® Wrangler Unlimited earned the lowest 5-Year Cost to Own Award from Kelley Blue Book’s KBB.com in the mid-size SUV/Crossover segment. Keep reading for more information.
The 5-Year Cost to Own award recognizes vehicles and brands that have the lowest projected ownership costs. This award is based on Kelley Blue Book’s 5-Year Cost to Own data on new cars for their first five years of ownership. They take into consideration the following aspects for all new models: depreciation, expected fuel costs, finance fees, insurance fees, maintenance costs, repair costs, and last but not least, state fees.
“The Jeep Wrangler remains one of the most iconic American vehicles, and its legendary status is reflected in, among other things, its stellar 5-Year Cost to Own results,” said Jack Nerad, executive editorial director and executive market analyst. “Americans love Wranglers, and that love affair is aided and abetted by its ‘smart buy’ status with low depreciation and maintenance costs.”
The Jeep Wrangler comes in two body styles: the two-door, four-passenger, or the four-door, five-passenger, and each of those come in three trim levels: the Sport, the Sahara, and the Rubicon. Some of the standard features on the base Wrangler Sport include cruise control, skid plates, removable doors, tow hooks, an eight-speaker sound system, fog lamps, manual mirrors and locks, full-size spare tire, fold-down windshield, and a one-piece fold and a tumble-forward backseat.
