It was announced at the end of the 2014 year that one of the vehicles in the Dodge fleet earned a five-star overall rating from the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. That vehicle is the all-new 2015 Dodge Challenger. Keep reading for more information on what helped it earn this top rating.
A five-star overall safety rating is the highest possible safety rating given by the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. The 2015 Dodge Challenger has over 70 safety and security features available, like blind-spot monitoring and Rear Cross-Path Detection. The U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration specifically singled out the Forward Collision Warning system that is available on the Dodge Challenger. This system uses forward-facing sensors that are programmed to detect a frontal collision and alert the driver with visual and audible warnings. This is the first vehicle in its segment to have a system like this one.
To earn this award the 2015 Dodge Challenger also went through a variety of crash tests, which include front and side impact. The vehicle earned five stars on all the tests.
“The new Dodge Challenger coupe further demonstrates our commitment to broaden the proliferation of advanced safety technologies, such as driver-assist features,” says Scott Kunselman, Senior Vice President-Vehicle Safety and Regulatory, FCA-North America. “The 2015 Challenger checks all the boxes,” Kunselman says. “It affords premium safety and security in a stylish package that delivers a sporty driving experience.”
