Everyone’s talking about trucks! We love the options we have but are always looking forward to what is to come next. So, what is to come next for RAM? RAM CEO and President Reid Bigland recently made that announcement. A few other automakers have announced their five year plans recently and now it’s time for RAM to take a turn.
Bigland had one main goal for RAM: “Build the best pickup trucks and commercial vehicles in the industry” and raise NAFTA-market sales from 463,000 in 2013 to 620,000 in 2018. He definitely is setting his sights high! But how does he plan to get there? RAM will start with a refresh of the RAM 1500 in 2015. 2016 brings a refresh of the entire Heavy Duty lineup – which includes vehicles like the RAM 2500 and the RAM 3500. In 2017 RAM will premiere the all-new RAM 1500 model and in 2018 the Heavy Duty lineup will get an all-new generation.
There were also announcements about the updates the commercial vehicles will receive, starting with the RAM Chassis Cab in 2016, the RAM Commercial Light Duty line in 2017, and the Heavy Duty and Chassis Cab line in 2018. There’s a lot to look forward to.
