August was another great month for FCA US LLC. The group sold a total of 801,672 units which is a 2 percent increase compared to August 2014 sales of 198,379 units. This sales number also makes it the best August sales since 2002 and the 65th consecutive month of year-over-year sales gains. So many things to celebrate! Keep reading for more information.
Once again, Jeep® led the pack with amazing sales this month. Their brand sales increased by 18 percent and they celebrated as the 23rd consecutive month of year-over-year sales gains. This means that Jeep has set sales records every month going back to November 2013! Not only that, Jeep celebrated best sales month ever knocking out the previous sales month record from May of this year. Three Jeep vehicles posted their best August sales ever: The Jeep Wrangler, Jeep Cherokee and Jeep Patriot. Jeep Renegade increased their sales by 29 percent when compared to July 2015. The Jeep Compass had the largest year-over-year percentage gain of any Jeep model this month – 58 percent!
“In spite of a tough 2014 comparison and extreme stock market volatility, our dealer’s competitive spirit kicked in and propelled us to our 65th-consecutive month of year-over-year sales increases,” said Reid Bigland, Head of U.S. Sales. “Our Jeep brand turned in a double-digit increase while eight individual models, including four Jeep brand vehicles, set sales records. FCA US topped the 200,000-unit threshold in August for the second time this year.”
