Did you know the 2014 New York Auto Show was taking place? Yes, and like every other year automakers use this show to make some of their biggest and most exciting announcements. The Dodge brand took this opportunity to show off the new 2015 Dodge Charger. You will be able to see the changes right away as many of them are exterior styling. There’s a few inside styling changes and a TorqueFlite eight-speed transmission is now standard.
Changes on the outside styling of the car include a crosshair grille, which is all blacked out, and new headlamps. The taillamps are rounded as is the front fascia, taking a styling cue from its brother vehicle the Dodge Dart.
On the interior there’s been the addition of an 8.4-inch touchscreen display that now comes standard. Also, there’s a new three-spoke steering wheel and gauge cluster that has a seven-inch display. Drivers will have eight new trim and color combinations to choose from for interior styling.
Dodge automakers were happy with the engine of the Dodge Charger, so they kept that. The 3.6-liter V6 engine will be the standard engine and can be coupled with both rear and all-wheel drive varieties. This engine produces 292 horsepower and 260 lb-ft. The other engine choice is the 5.7-liter V8, available in rear-wheel drive, kicks out 370 horsepower and 395 lb-ft of torque.
