Just last month the National Hot Rod Association hosted its Drag Racing Series Four-Wide Nationals in Concord, North Carolina. Dodge got in on the action since the winner, Fast Jack Beckman was driving a 2015 Dodge Charger R/T and posted the event’s first sub-four second run. Keep reading for more information.

The Four-Wide Nationals is extremely unique. It splits 16 qualifiers into four waves and they race on four lanes at the same time. The top two finishers advance to the next round. Instead of the usual two stages lights there are four, which presents unique challenges for the drivers.

This is the second Four-Wide Nationals title for Beckman and his fifth sub-four second lap. For Dodge this is the 15th three-second pass posted by the Dodge Charger, which makes it the most by any manufacturer.

“If there was a track and a format where the new 2015 Mopar Dodge Charger was perfect for us this was it,” said Beckman who has been very pleased with the increased visibility and performance of his new race car. “This new cockpit configuration was perfect for the Four-Wide format where it is difficult to stage. I’m just so elated. Every nitro win I have ever had has been in a Dodge Charger and this is my first in the new Mopar and I don’t think it will be the last this year.”
