What does it take to be a top-ranking SUV? If you ask any of our dealers at Jake Sweeney Chrysler Dodge Jeep® RAM, we’ll likely tell you the top qualifying factor is engine power. We’re fortunate enough to have one of the most powerful new SUVs on the market right here in our showroom, just waiting to be test-drive. The 2020 Jeep Cherokee is a fan favorite across several categories, and we’re excited to compare its engine power to its competitors.
2020 Honda CR-V and 2020 Toyota RAV4 Details
The 2020 Jeep Cherokee has plenty of competition when it comes to power, including the 2020 Honda CR-V. This new Honda SUV may bring a decent amount of engine power to the table, but it doesn’t do enough to impress a majority of SUV drivers. The 2020 Honda CR-V sports a turbocharged 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine that delivers 190 horsepower, and while you can opt for a hybrid model, you won’t find much more expansion in terms of engine power.
Compared to the 2020 Honda CR-V, the new 2020 Toyota RAV4 doesn’t appear to be too different. To be fair, this new Toyota SUV does sport a beefier engine option in the form of a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that puts out around 203 horsepower. Like the Honda model, the 2020 Toyota RAV4 provides a eco-friendly hybrid option, but it also falls a little short in the power department.
2020 Jeep Cherokee Details
No matter how much power the 2020 Honda CR-V or the 2020 Toyota RAV4 deliver, the 2020 Jeep Cherokee resides at the front of the pack when it comes to horsepower. While the base engine is a pretty low-profile turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine, this new Jeep SUV delivers a grand total of 270 horsepower, blowing the competition out of the water. If this degree of power isn’t enough, you can also choose to upgrade to the more powerful 3.2-liter V6 engine, which generates a heart-stopping 707 horsepower.
