Being a safe driver is important at any age, but it is important for teens especially because it will set the standard for how they drive for the remainder of their life. The Chrysler Foundation recognizes this importance and has teamed up with Mopar to provide a defensive driving program for teenage drivers. Keep reading for more information on this program.
The program is called “Mopar Road Ready” and will be available to youth between the ages of 15 and 19 who have their learner’s or drivers license and at least 30 hours of driving experience. Registration for the program will begin in early 2015 with the hope impact more than 1,000 young drivers and their parents. There will be three two-day sessions offered in California, Florida and Michigan. These three day sessions will incorporate classroom lessons and advanced hands-on behind the wheel training with a 3 to 1 student to teacher ratio.
“Mopar is a brand that cares about and supports all its drivers, especially the youngest, and that is why we’ve teamed with the NHRA Motorsports Museum and B.R.A.K.E.S to develop the ‘Mopar Road Ready’ teen driver’s training program,” said Pietro Gorlier, President and CEO—Mopar Service, Parts and Customer Care. “You can’t put a price on safety, so along with the Chrysler Foundation, Mopar will be supporting this very worthwhile initiative with six free sessions for teenage drivers through select Mopar dealers.”
