The 2016 RAM 3500 and other vehicles that were contending for the Hispanic Motor Press Awards were vetted by a committee of Hispanic automotive journalists. They took more than 100 vehicles out for test drives and evaluated the vehicles on design, comfort, safety, economy, handling, performance, functionality, environmental requirements, driver satisfaction and value. To be considered vehicles had to be all-new models and available in all 50 of the United States.
There are so many reasons why this vehicle deserves this award! The 2016 RAM 3500 has the best-in-class 900 lb-ft of torque and comes with a 6.7-liter Cummins and Aisin transmission. With this particular transmission the RAM 3500 cab tow up to 30,000 pounds or up to 31,210 pounds using SAE J2807 criteria.
“The committee had a very tough time selecting this year’s Autos de Hoy,” said judge director Ricardo Rodriguez-Long. “Still, the on- and off-road driving dynamics of the Jeep Renegade and the best-in-class hauling capability of the Ram 3500 each stood out as a great vehicle option for Hispanic families in the United States.”
